Sundae Station — 2005-2009 Bowling Green, Ohio
My very first job out of high school was making towering ice-cream cones and smack-your-mamma pulled pork sandwiches.
Cheryl and Jerry Foltz had previously owned and ran a butcher-shop for decades, and “retired” after selling the establishment. They didn’t stay retired long and soon found themselves as the owners of an ice cream store.
With their wise business leadership, I learned how a small food-business operation worked, while honing customer services skills, timeliness and quality control.
This job was also crucial in supporting me as I attended Bowling Green State University.

While attending college full-time, I also juggled several jobs, including on-campus positions.
Jerome Library
I was part of the librarians’ team, at the Jerome Library, helping to digitize documents and books into their newly forming online collections.
Student Athlete Services
As an honor student, I was welcomed to become a tutor for student athletes. I was subject to NCAA rules while I developed and lead tutoring sessions (groups and individuals) from the basketball, football and track teams.
