After my husband took a dream in Florida, I was again faced with reinventing myself. After years of reading cookbooks and dietary science literature to combat my mysterious health problems, I took the leap to share that facet of myself with the world and created Meals by Emily.
While my personal chef business is budding, I am not new to the science and complexity of nutrition. Though I am not classically trained in culinary arts, I have honed my cooking craft through years of finding ways to heal myself. As a person that follows a Mediterranean style diet, I love “simple” meals, and am always looking to learn something new.
While foods in the store can be sketchy, I have taken up cooking things I never thought I would — blue masa hand pressed tortillas, ranch dressing made from scratch with avocado mayo, yogurt and fresh herbs, fermented pickles and sauerkraut, bone broths, and most recently, home made Greek yogurt (save the whey!). These are just a few examples of the explorations I engage in daily, as I continue to learn what the world of food has to offer.
