Carter Historic Farm — 2023 Bowling Green, Ohio
Farm Assistant & Educator
After my husband recovered from his injuries and was able to return to work, I decided it was time I tried the same. With the world also recovered from the shock of COVID, I found a perfect job at Carter Historic Farm.
Carter Farm is a living history, working farm depicting the 1930’s Depression Era. The farm grows produce and livestock, operates pre-1940’s farm equipment (think big belt driven machinery, hay wagons and old Ford tractors). The farm is open to the public daily, with the grounds available for perusement. The farm also hosts several events.
At Carter Historic Farm, I was tasked with a set of daily farm chores, planning and leading activities with the public, and participating in community outreach programs.
I was blessed to a part of the Eclipse Path of Totality on April 8, 2024 special event at Carter Farm, with people from all over the nation visiting the farm to experience the eclipse.
I also helped organize and execute several Farm Feast events, where foods grown on the farm were batch cooked for the public, feeding about 100 people per event.
